Abstract:Based on the requirements of a machine tool which is used to measure and process aeronautic structural parts, a three-axis simultaneous control system with dual-CPU structure (Galil motion controller and industrial computer) is presented in this paper. The core of the system is the GALIL motion controller, and the human-machine interface, data processing and real-time monitoring functions are realized by industrial computer. The data points on the inner surface of the work piece can be obtained by using Galil's position capture function. The full closed loop control systems are estimated for the transitional axes by using PID algorithm with velocity and acceleration feed-forward, and the position accuracy of the machine is improved after error compensation. The results of processing test shows that the system is stable and reliable and position accuracy can be achieved micron level to meet the requirements of measurement and processing. ? 2010 IEEE.
