Abstract:Coal combustion is the greatest anthropogenic source of air pollution.NO and HgO as major contaminants in flue gas have attracted significant concern.Many control strategies for NO removal have been widely implemented,such as SCR,SNCR.Typically,NO is insoluble in water and difficult to remove,in contrast,NO2 can be efficiently removed by wet scrubbing technology.Mercury emission has also aroused considerable attention,especially HgO.Consequently,effective HgO control technologies need to be developed.Recently,several techniques,such as sorbent injection and catalytic oxidation,have been used to control HgO emission.Above mentioned technologies mainly attempt to remove separate NO or HgO in flue gas,which usually suffer from the problems of complex systems and high operating costs.Accordingly,development of an integrated oxidation technology aiming at simultaneous oxidation of NO and HgO is suggested as an alternative to improve flue gas control efficiency.As an effective alternative,the preoxidation of NO to ...
