Abstract:The reliability-based structural optimization problem of railway bridges is studied in this paper. Mathematical formulation of optimization is proposed and minimum cost design of simply supported steel truss bridges is presented. An effective algorithm, RRDQA, for solving discrete variable optimization is proposed. A numerical example is analyzed and further discussion is provided.
