Abstract:Dynamic properties of CFRP reinforced concrete slabs were identified through numerical study via the software ANSYS. The dynamic performances of the concrete slabs before and after strengthening with different layers of CFRP were compared by calculating the dynamic parameters with discrete finite element models. The numerical results indicate that the cracks of strengthened concrete slabs have been obviously reduced, and the stiffness improved, leading to smaller deflections than the slab without CFRP. With the increase of CFRP layers, the peak values of the dynamic stresses, displacement, velocity and acceleration of the strengthened slabs are gradually decreased. The external enhancement with two layers of CFRP is the most effective in both strengthening effect and material utilization. ? 2015, Science Press. All right reserved.
