Abstract: Biodegradable ABA-type tercopolymers of trimethylene carbonate (TMC), L-lactide (LLA) and e-caprolactone (e-CL) with weight ratio of 30/30/40 and 40/20/40 (TMC/LLA/e-CL) were synthesized via bulk ring-opening copolymerization, using stannous octoate as catalyst. The molecular structure of the tercopolymer was characterized by 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and fourier transform infrared (FTTR). The results showed that the novel poly(TMC-co-LLA)/poly(e-CL) ABA type block tercopolymers were successfully synthesized.
