Abstract: Structural transformation of two methoxy derivatives of benzo[de]benzo[4,5]imidazo[2,1-a]-isoquinolin-7-one were determined via spectroscopic analysis. The transformation mechanism was proposed as the breakage and reformation of the lactam bond.
