Abstract:Through the analysis of seismic responses of largespan arch bridge, the influences of interaction between structure and soil on the seismic responses are studied. In the study, three models of the structure-soil interaction are used, including mmethod, p-y curve method and modified p-y curve method considering detachment of structure and soil. The results show that the displacements calculated by the two methods with p-y curves are larger than that of m-method by 40 % to 60%, while the results of two p-y curve methods are close. So p-y curve method should be adopted in analysis of seismic responses of bridges when the interaction between structure and soil is considered. ? 2011 IEEE.
