Abstract: Calcined layered double hydroxides particles were used as adsorbent to remove fluoride ions. Batch adsorption studies were conducted under various equilibrating conditions. The results show that the HT1c calcined at 500 degrees C had the highest capacity of removal of fluoride ions, after adsorption it regenerated to its original layered structure, it is called "memory effect". In field water studies, the F(-) concentration decreased from 11.21 mg/L to 1.26 mg/L.
