Abstract:An experiment of low cycle fatigue at high temperature with the material 16MnR was carried out under multiaxial state. A stochastic distribution evolution of collective short fatigue cracks model is established based on the experiment analysis results. The model refers to the effect of material microstructure and interference influence between cracks. The whole process of short fatigue cracks initiation, propagation, coalescence and interference on the surface of material 16MnR is numerically simulated by means of this model. It shows that the numerical results are basically consistent with the experiment one. The model can be used to simulate the short cracks effectively. The definitions of micro short crack initiation drive force and propagation drive force are established, and they can characterize well the fatigue damage.
