Abstract:Titanium silicalites, synthesized by using different templates and bases, were used to catalyze reactions for synthesis of propylene oxide (PO) from propylene and hydrogen peroxide under identical reaction conditions. Effects of crystal size and crystallinity on the performance of catalyst were investigated. TS-1 zeolite showed higher activity than that of TS-2. PO selectivity decreased if the catalysts were acid-treated. As the crystal size of TS-1 zeolite increased, the reaction rate reduced and PO selectivity increased. Both the conversion of H2O2 and the utilization of H2O2 increased with the increase of TS-1 crystallinity. TS-1 zeolite with good performance in propylene epoxidation can be synthesized by using TPABr as the template, and diethylamine, n-butylamine, ammonia etc. as base resoures.
