Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is the investigation of the joint effect of macro fiber and steel rebar on the workability of fresh fiber reinforced high performance self-compacting concrete (FFHPSCC) and the mechanical behaviour of the FRHPSCC tubbing segment. In comparison with the conventional RC tubbing, a safe and economic composite material-FRHPSCC should be verified by means of the new developed testing method in Europe.
Fifteen symmetric-inclination beams with various stirrup ratios and fiber contents were tested and the results show that the steel fiber content of 50 kg/m(3) can increase the ultimate load with shear reinforcement partially or totally replaced. The combination of steel fibres and steel bars illustrates synergistic response and indicates an optimal choice of reinforcement for SCC tubbing segment.
