Abstract:Aiming at the application of boundary element method (BEM) to anticorrosion systems for ocean engineering, a parallel computation technique is developed, which enables the anti-corrosion system of large-scale ocean structure to be simulated. Example of a semi-submersible platform is presented, which shows how the protection potential distributes under the compound anti-corrosion system which is combined paint coatings with cathodic protection (CP) and complex galvanic corrosion system. The impressed current combined with sacrificial anode CP measure is proposed, and the optimization scheme in life cycle of the CP system is established by numerical simulation. ? 2010 by The International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).
