Abstract:A practical three-component copper-mediated oxidative trifluoromethylthiolation of aryl boronic acids with cheap and readily available sodium trifluoroacetate and elemental sulfur is reported. A variety of trifluoromethylthio-substituted aromatics are synthesized in moderate yields under mild reaction conditions. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
