Abstract:This paper presents an EMD method focusing on decomposing vector-valued functions on surfaces. It computes the envelopes of vector-valued functions by an interpolation approach based on thin-plate splines on manifolds, and sets up a special stopping criterion of the sifting process for vector-valued functions. As for surfaces with boundary, it adds extra data points at the boundary into the extremum set as constraints to reduce end effects. Besides, this EMD method is applied to mesh denoising and detail enhancement of meshes. Experiment results demonstrate this method and its applications can generate good results. ?, 2015, Binary Information Press. All right reserved.
