Abstract:The salient feature of the smart grid is the intellectualization of the primary equipment in process level. The intelligent vacuum circuit breakers play important roles in Substation Automation Systems (SAS). In this paper, we focus on the key technologies of intelligent vacuum circuit breakers suitable for smart grid, including online monitoring and digital communications. The monitoring technologies of key parameters such as the contact temperature, the primary phase currents and voltages are introduced in details. Based on these, the communication sever model suitable for intelligent vacuum circuit breakers is presented and implemented. The test shows that the method proposed in this paper is feasible and can be applied in engineering fields. ? 2012 Binary Information Press.
