Abstract:Vacuum switch and SF 6 switch in series, which can make the best of different arc extinguishing characteristics to achieve high-current interruption. In this paper, simulation platform and arc models are established by alternative transients program (ATP) and its transient analysis of control systems (TACS). Combined with the experimental oscillograph waveforms, practical vacuum arc and SF 6 arc model parameters are obtained by mathematical method. The research work is meant to study interactions and voltage distribution relations between vacuum arc and SF 6 arc during current interruption process, the dielectric recovery process and cooperative characteristics of two arc models at the different interruption moment. Simulation result shows that if vacuum switch withstands the initial transient recovery voltage (TRV) and interrupts the post-arc current firstly, the dielectric strength recovery of SF 6 switch is fast. The voltage distribution of two switches is determined by their post-arc resistances which happen after current-zero, subsequently, it is decided by the capacitive impedances after post-arc current decay to zero. ? 2012 Binary Information Press.
