Nonlinear analysis for load carrying capacity of corroded concrete beam

Abstract:For corroded concrete, it is difficult to accurately construct the efficient model because of the coupled effects of chemical and mechnical factors on its' deformation and strength properties. While we also notice that the behavior of corroded concrete shows the plastic response and stiffness degradation as well as non-corroded concrete. So in this paper, the plastic-damage model for concrete proposed by J. Lee and G. L. Fenves1 is applied for the corroded concrete. The numerical examples including uniaxial loading tests and prediction of load carrying capacity for both non-corroded and corroded concrete beam are given. ? CIMNE.
