Abstract:As a countermeasure to the challenges of resource and environment in the fast urbanization, most cities choose green transformation as a necessary path to their development. By looking into the practices in question around the world, we have summarized three models of urban transition towards greening, namely, industrial reconfiguration, unique feature orientation and ecological development. Three cities are selected as examples to present the key components for urban transformation, followed by a comparison of their correlation and differences. It is expected that the findings would provide references and inspirations for other cities in the course of transition. (c) 2017 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
