Abstract: The trust network is a social network where nodes are inter-linked by their trust relations. Trust-based recommender systems have made many contributions to improve the performance and overcome some limitations of recommender systems. However, little is known about the structural properties of trust network. And little exploration of using these properties to develop novel trust-based recommender model has been done. We leveraged implicit trust information to develop a trust network, and illustrated that this trust network is a dynamic small-world network by analysing its properties. Finally, we proposed a novel trust-based recommender algorithm using the properties of trust network. Experimental results clear showed that: our proposed algorithm is superior to the classic collaborative filtering on the accuracy performance.
