Abstract:In this paper we approach the new algorithm of sectoral electricity consumption elasticity coefficient of reaction degrees and influence degrees using input-output analysis. The method of sectoral electricity consumption classification is presented. From the perspective of both demand and distribution, we apply the proposed methodology to the China economy based on 1995, 2000 national input-output data and electricity consumption data. The result indicates that the economic growth and development model of China are still extensive growth and development model now. The key sectors of electricity consumption mainly concentrate on the heavy industry especially heavy chemical industrial sectors. With the changing of economic structure, commercial catering trade and other non-materials production sector became key sectors of electricity consumption in 2000.
