Abstract:In the paper, the residual solution distribution was measured as CO 2/N2 flowed into the cooled saturated porous media using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Pressure was fluctuating during the displacement process. Hydrates were not formed evidently in BZ-04, and the displacement process was smooth. The increase of MRI mean intensity (MI) indicated that hydrate perhaps formed in BZ-01 and BZ-02. The final mean intensities for the three kinds of glass beads were similar with each other after the CO2/N2 displacement, but the residual solution saturations were different.
