Abstract:Palladium-catalyzed nucleophilic dearomatization of chloromethyl naphthalene derivatives to produce ortho- or pare-substituted carbocycles in satisfactory to excellent yields has been developed. The unprecedented dearomatization reactions proceeded smoothly under mild conditions via eta(3)-benzylpalladium Intermediates.
