Abstract:There are five stability failure modes in waves involved in second generation intact stability criteria. In the article parametric roll is researched, and sample calculation is made based on the criteria of parametric roll. Multiple linear regression method and Ikeda's method are applied to calculating restoring coefficients in still water and calculating roll damping coefficients respectively. Then roll amplitude is calculated with the bisection method. Based on the calculation results, the region where parametric roll might happen is figured, and operation guidance for navigation safety is presented. ?, 2015, The Editorial Office of Shipbuilding of China.
