Abstract:A mini single line power transmission system which consists of two Tesla coils is studied in this paper. The basic compositions and the design parameters are introduced. The voltage?gain frequency characteristics under different transmission distances and different load conditions are mainly studied. It is found that the system has two different resonant frequencies which will shift with the change of the transmission distance. At the aspect of the transmitting capability, the LED can be easily lighted at the distance of 20 meters when the signal generator is used as the high frequency power supply, which demonstrates the feasibility of power transmission through a single line. In addition, the voltage?gain of the system is not affected with the metal obstacles. If the single line is replaced by seawater and it is showed that power can also be transmitted through the sea water, which offers a new possibility for the power supply of the islands. Finally, the problems of the energy losses and the resonant frequency shift in the system and the improvement schemes are discussed.
