Abstract:The present situation of pilot tests for enhanced oil recovery by employing petroleum sulfonates at home and abroad is summarized. The raw materials and process in synthesizing petroleum sulfonates and the fine composition of petroleum sulfonates are introduced. Low interfacial tension properties of petroleum sulfonates and mixed surfactants systems are described. Precipitation losses in the flooding process, the factors that affected the losses and the adsorption losses on the reservoir sand surface are investigated. It is pointed out that the modified petroleum sulfonates and synthetic petroleum sulfonates (SPS) will be the development tendency.
