Abstract: A new rhodamine-based fluorescence probe (AG-RB) is reported. This probe exhibits favorable cell-permeable due to the introduction of D-glucosamine and has been successfully used to detect intracellular Hg2+ by fluorescence imaging method. The modified-rhodamine chitosan material (CS-RB) is able to recognize and adsorb Hg2+ by spectroscopic and "naked-eye" method in water. (C) 2012 Published by Elsevier B.V.
