摘要:Precise assembly based on machine vision is an important method to realize automatic assembly for miniature parts. An assembly system based on machine vision was developed in this paper, which solved the key problem in the assembly process, including the great difference in size, shapes and surface features of parts, and strict tolerance required for both position and orientation. The recognition and localization of the parts to be assembled were implemented by Canny edge detection, least square fitting algorithm, contour detection, centroid and principal axis calculation and image stitching. Precise assembly of the miniature parts was guaranteed through the transformation of the device coordinate systems. Experimental result shows that the assembly accuracy is less than 40 μm.
