Abstract: A novel acid dye acid was synthesized by the condensation reaction between bromamine acid and 2-amino-6-nitrobenzothiazole and its anti-UV protection properties were evaluated. The results showed that silk dyed with this dye had very good ultraviolet radiation protection capability and excellent dyeing performance. The UV-absorption mechanism of this dye was also discussed.
