Abstract:The increasing municipal solid waste (MSW) in China has not only brought great harm to the environment, but also has seriously hindered the rapid development of economic. Therefore, it is very necessary to deal with waste treatment/disposal effectively with the optimization of MSW management system. After analyzing the economic costs and environmental impacts of MSW, an interval-parameter chance-constrained multi-objective mixed integer linear programming model (ICMOMILP) under uncertainty which has dual objectives on economic costs and environmental impacts is established. The model is applied to planning of MSW management in Da'lian Development Zone. Three scenarios which based on the investigation and the analysis on solid waste management of Da'lian Development Zone are established to solve this model. The optimization results: scenario 2 has the lowest economic costs and environmental costs among the three scenarios. The results show that in order to solve the problem of "reduction, harmless and recycling" in MSW management system, the waste separation collection should be achieved firstly. A scientific foundation for decision-making on solid waste management of Da'lian Develop Zone is provided in this article.
