Abstract: Traffic noise has seriously affected public health and should be considered in road network planning. The existing research of the influence of road network on traffic noise mainly relies on numerical simulation, which has certain limitations. In this paper, the typical research samples are selected and the differences of the traffic noise and its influencing factors of the two types of road networks, called"Low Street Density, Big Block Size"and"High Street Density, Small Block Size", are explored through multi-frequency, short-time noise and traffic flow measurements. The results show that traffic noise levels of different road networks are also different;the difference of noise peak is more significant than the difference of the noise background;the noise difference of the urban branch is more significant than that of the urban trunk road. The correlation between noise and traffic flow in urban road network is stronger than that of vehicle speed, which is related to the great fluctuation of traffic flow and the small fluctuation of vehicle speed. There is a certain correlation between the length of the road segment and traffic noise, but this correlation is not stable, and the internal mechanism needs to be further clarified. The research can be used as reference for urban planning management and design.
