Abstract: With rapid pace of urbanization and expanded usage of urban night lighting , large numbers of high intensity lighting facilities have been installed in urban areas .Overflowing and flooded illumination have caused light pollution .This study , through survey and analysis of a couple of outdoor urban spaces in Dalian, aims to assess lighting issues associated with urban spaces in different functions , and to explore the method of improving light environment in those spaces .
