Abstract:Based on the class of moving boundary named fixedValuePointPatchVectorField in OpenFOAM,a piston-type wave generation boundary is developed by class inheritance. After that, the process of the propagation,run-up and breaking of a solitary wave over three diversiform reef profiles is simulated.Numerical results are examined, discussed and compared with the results of Boussinesq model and physical model test. It could be concluded that the present model could effectively handle the solitary wave that has a large ratio of wave height and water depth. Furthermore, the nonlinear process such as wave breaking and hydraulic jump could be also simulated well.
