Abstract:Fiber lasers own lots of advantages compared with other lasers, including long life, good mode, compactness, etc. Recently, fiber lasers have received increasingly intensive attention in the applications of electronic information, industry processing and national defense technology. The typical principle of fiber laser is explained and research progresses about fiber lasers are reviewed. Furthermore, the future developmental trends for laser fiber are discussed.
