Abstract:A FBG pressure sensor was proposed based on thin-wall strain tube. FBG1 and FBG2 were stuck to outer wall of thin-wall inner tube along axial and circumference, respectively. FBG2 measured pressure and FBG1 was the temperature compensation grating. By optimizing the substrate material and the structure of the sensor, the experimental measurement pressure was up to 40 MPa and pressure sensitivity coefficient was 0.033 nm/MPa, which was 11 times of that traditional bare FBG. The result indicated that this structure FBG pressure sensor can meet the measurements of different range and sensitivity by changing the structure of parameters, such as substrate material, geometry size.
