Abstract:This paper presents a method to calculate ship's instantaneous restoring force and coupled motion in oblique seas. According to this method, numerical calculation program is compiled and used to calculate the rolling motion of C11 ship in regular and random oblique waves. Based on the numerical results, the probability density of random rolling motion is calculated by using Path Integration Method. The data shows that numerical results are close to test results when ship is in regular wave. Copyright ? 2014 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).
