Abstract: Influences of install and design of residential lighting on physical and mental health of residents in Dalain were studied by field investigation and questionnaire survey. Luminance simulation of the local light environment was analyzed by SM light environment test software. The results reflected that path luminance and entrance luminance are weak. There is a larger illumination gap between inside and outside of the district owing to bright commercial light. Part of landscape lights has a potential light pollution on the city ecosystem. Therefore scientific design and evaluation of light environment have a important influence on city life and traffic in the night. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
