Abstract:This paper reports a low-cost liquid-wetting-solid strategy to fabricate flexible pressure sensors. To demonstrate this strategy, a flexible sensor based on salt solution wetting conducting sponge was fabricated, and its sensing properties for detection of static pressure and vibration were investigated. It is found that this sensor not only can detect static loads, but also can detect vibrations with low frequency down to several Hz. The pressure sensitive networks are based on capacitive and resistive sensing principles. However, compared with resistance, the change of capacitance is more sensitive and has wider response range. It is prospective that this kind of sensors can be applied in wearable pressure detective devices and acoustic detection underwater.
