Mid-infrared surface plasmon resonance sensor based on silicon-doped InAs film and chalcogenide glass fiber

  • 摘要:A fiber-optic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor working in the mid-infrared (mid-IR) region is present. Based on the chalcogenide glass (2S2G) fiber and a silicon-doped InAs film, this mid-IR SPR sensor can work in the wavelength region of 9-16 mu m theoretically. The dual-tapered fiber tip structure is employed to narrow absorption valley and increase the detection limit. Simulated results show that the proposed fiber-optic mid-IR SPR sensor can detect refractive index changes from 1.0 to 1.7. The sensitivity of the sensor are 1695 nm/RIU and 4470 nm/RIU for vapor and liquid phase detection, respectively.
