Abstract:Common quantification methods in the GO methodology are all somewhat complicated for complex systems with multi-state signals. Combining two existing algorithms, state combination algorithm and state cumulative probability algorithm, a novel reliability analysis and evaluation algorithm is presented by using matrices to express state probability of signals and joint probability of signal state combinations. Details on quantitative calculation formula derivation of frequently-used operators are discussed. Besides, through establishing matrix equation for the shared signals in system makes the new correction algorithm applicable to any number of shared signal and arbitrary dimensions of signal state. Finally, results of two examples show the new algorithm is effective, accurate, and also has the advantages of intuitive formula, simple calculation, easy programming, especially a greater advantage in reliability calculation for multi-state complex systems. 1548-7741/Copyright ? 2014 Binary Information Press
