Abstract: Recently, many people have focused on the alkaline anion exchange membrane fuel cell because it has the several unique advantages, such as the reversed osmosis drag, the easiness to employ non-noble metal catalysts for both anode and cathode, and the low-cost component. In the alkaline anion exchange membrane fuel cell, the membrane with good properties in ionic conductivity, mechanical strength and chemical stability is required. However, up to now, the fabrication of this kind of membrane is very challenging. In this paper, we prepared a thin PTFE-Quaternized polysulfone (PTFE-QNPSU) composite membrane for alkaline anion exchange membrane fuel cell. The ionic conductivity measurement gave a value of 0.01 S cm-1 at room temperature and 100 % RH. In single fuel cell test, the membrane is found to have bout 80 mW cm-2 fuel cell performance using hydrogen and oxygen at room temperature.
