Abstract:Adjacent cutters spacing design is a key for the cutter head design of the full face rock tunnel boring machine (TBM), which directly relates to the boring efficiency of TBM cutter head and the cutters   life. Adjacent cutters spacing design not only relates with the boundary conditions and rock, cutter and cutter parameters of tunneling parameters, but also couples with the cutter structure interaction, and it is a sequential process of broken rock. Based on the finite element simulation platform of rock crushing RFPA2D, considering the adjacent multi-cutters sequential constraints, respectively, taking two typical rocks (muddy pink sandstone and granite gneiss) as boundary conditions, a gauge cutters group is pressed into rock by different successive angles and different tilt angles. The results show the mapping between the specific energy (SE) with successive angles and tilt angles for the gauge cutters. The results of the analysis show the optimal value of successive angle and tilt angles and provide the ba is for the cutter head design. ? Sila Science. All Rights Reserved.
