Abstract:This paper investigates the exponential stability problem for a class of descriptor systems with interval time-varying delays. The time-varying delays contain a large delay period(LDP), which is often present in practical control systems. Such descriptor system with LDP has been firstly modeled as a switched descriptor system with delay, which may include an unstable subsystem caused by large delay bound. On the grounds of switching method and constructing a novel Lyapunov- Krasovskii functional, the sufficient conditions are obtained so that the descriptor system is regular, impulse free and stable. The solution is obtained under the restriction frequency and the rate of LDP. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the merits of the proposed method.
