Abstract:Airborne pathogen spread fast by force of air flow, which causes respiratory infectious diseases. While, conventional techniques can hardly provide effective ways for rapid detection of the airborne pathogens. Herein, a microfluidic chip-based technique with chip design for air aerodynamics combined with liquid phase LAMP amplifications are reported. The presented chip is capable of capture and detection of airborne Staphylococcus aureus in 1.5 h. The result can be observed by naked eyes. The microfluidic chip was portable, fast and low-price, indicating its potentially application in point-of-care detections of airborne pathogen. ? 2015, Publishing House for Journal of Hydrodynamics.
