Abstract:A cyano-bridged ferromagnetic {(Fe2FeII)-Fe-III} alternating chain {[Fe-III(pzTp)(CN)(3)](2)[Fe-II(imidazole)(H2O)])center dot 3H(2)O (1) (pzTp = tetrakis(pyrazolyl)borate) was synthesized via rational design. Crystal structure analysis studies demonstrated that complex 1 had a one-dimensional double zigzagging chain-like structure. Magnetic measurements showed that ferromagnetic interactions dominate in 1 and the AC magnetic susceptibility revealed two limit regimes in accordance with the single chain magnet and spin-glass behavior.
