Abstract:Synthesis of functionalized syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) has been a long-standing interest both in academic and industrial community, because it may afford functionalization of polymeric materials having excellent property of sPS which makes up the lack of functionality of polystyrene simultaneously. Especially, the polymers containing amino groups have important applications for anchoring metal catalysts and enable the catalysts with new performance. Therefore, it is of great significance to realize anchor metal to functionalized sPS by amino groups for further improving the performance of catalyst, which take full advantage of the sPS, such as high melting point, high modulus of elasticity and excellent resistance to heat and chemicals. The thermal stability is certainly a very important aspect in the application of functionalized sPS materials.
