Abstract:Reliable power supplies are indispensable for the control component of high voltage direct current switches. But power cannot be directly acquired from the high voltage side of the grid. Wireless power transmission is a practicable solution of supplying power. The efficiency of wireless power transmission system is directly influenced by the efficiency of the power supply. A power supply used on wireless power transmission for high voltage direct current switches is designed in this paper. The power supply consists of a high frequency signal generator and a class E power amplifier with impedance matching networks. The circuit is simulated in Advanced Design System. A power supply prototype is constructed. The simulation and the experimental results show that the power supply prototype can operate steadily with high efficiency and provide enough power for the wireless power transmission system for high voltage direct current switches.
