Abstract: In order to explore the influence of material particle parameters on the excavating resistance and simulation time of the large mining excavator during the application of DEM (Discrete Element Method),the paper established the excavating simulation model of WK-55 mining excavator,and analyzed the excavating simulation from the simulation duration,the stability of simulation results and the excavating resistance.It respectively studied the influence of particle size,density,recovery coefficient,shearing modulus,friction coefficient and surface energy on the excavating simulation,and obtained the influence laws of each parameter on the excavating resistance.The results showed the appropriate reduction of the shearing modulus effectively saved the simulation duration on the premise of keeping the excavating resistance unchanged,which offered reference for the simplification of the discrete element simulation model of the working device of the large mining excavator.
