Abstract:Based on the series of tests conducted on districted cooling flat tools, the influence of the process parameters, such as sheet thickness, holding time and holding pressure, on hardness and strength of hot forming steels was investigated by orthogonal experimental method. The '3σ law' was taken to analyze the mechanical properties of the hot forming parts under the optimized forming process. The strength-hardness nonlinear regression equation and the diagram for ranking the mechanical property of the hot forming steel were established based on the flexible exponential model simultaneously. The model and benchmark was verified by the U type hot forming tests with the optimized process. The results show that the established criterion and diagram can provide an important basis for online quality detection and feedback control strategy for hot forming production line. ©, 2015, Editorial Office of Transactions of Materials and Heat Treatment.
