摘要: Wave run-ups and pressures exerted on vertical walls have been recognized as a dominant factor by coastal engineers, which is essential in the design of coastal structures. In this study, a 2D numerical model for focused wave group action on a vertical wall is founded based on the fully nonlinear potential theory. The model is developed by using a time-domain higher-order boundary element method (HOBEM) combined with a mixed Eulerian-Lagrangian technique as a time marching process. The focused wave trains are numerically generated by a piston wave-maker in a flume. The acceleration-potential scheme is used for obtaining accurate time derivative of velocity potential. The simulated results were compared with published experimental results. Then the run-up and maximum wave pressure along the vertical wall for different wave spectrum bandwidths, wall positions and wave nonlinearity, are further studied.
