Abstract: Nanometer α-Al_2O_3 was synthesized by mixture detonation of aluminum hydroxide and explosive. It was characterized by TEM, SEM, XRD and BET. It is shown that the α-Al_2O_3 is flat, its size varies from 1μm to 3μm, the thickness of a flat is about 50nm and the value of BET is 57.88m2/g.
